Wash in an automatic typewriter easy and simple. Every hostess at least once in her life has heard the phrases that “it’s all erasing itself”, and “grandmothers had to go to the river”. But in the automatic washing has its own nuances, not knowing which you can spoil the laundry or machine. Familiarize yourself with the basic rules and make no more mistakes.
Wash underwear separately from other clothes.
For some items, such as swimsuits or bras, it is better to choose hand wash at all. The machine will stretch the elastic bands and cups, which will lead to a significant deterioration in the supporting properties of linen. Lacy underwear of any kind is also recommended to be washed by hand. But cotton items and tights, including nylon, you can lay in the machine. Wash at low temperature in delicate wash mode. It is desirable to turn out the tights on the wrong side and place in a special bag.
Do not abuse the fabric softener.
Advertising convinces us that air conditioning is an essential attribute of washing. Without it, many hostesses do not even run their cars. On the one hand, this tool has its advantages. The linen becomes softer, it is better smoothed and smells great. But for some things the remedy is categorically contraindicated. Moisture is no longer absorbed as we would have expected. Do not add air conditioning when washing towels, bathrobes, clothes for sports, and other things that should absorb sweat or moisture. Not recommended for air conditioning and allergies.
Add detergent strictly according to the instructions
Sometimes it seems to us that the more the better. And trying to wash the very dirty linen, we add powder without sparing. And in vain. Excess detergents do not dissolve in water, so do your job by clogging up the machine and accumulating in the folds of laundry. Due to the excess conditioner, laundry is badly rinsed, and bleach can even leave uneven stains on clothes. Excess detergents can cause an unpleasant smell from the machine, and can provoke a “foamy party” that the neighbors do not like the bottom. Use containers with graduation marks and strictly follow the instructions on the package. Wash particularly soiled laundry in a specialized mode and add additional soaking and rinsing cycles to it.
Choose a low wash temperature
Another mistake is to assume that the machine washes laundry well only at high temperatures. Modern powders are able to cope with their work already at 40 degrees. And if your machine does not offer separate modes, remember, it is at this temperature that most of the clothes should be washed. 60 degrees is the temperature at which things are already being disinfected. It can be used for bed linen, towels and things that really need it. For example, you can wash the clothes of a child after an illness. And 90 degrees is already a boiling mode, which should be used only in emergency cases. With a low-temperature wash, your clothes will retain their shape and colors for a long time, and will last you much longer.
Remove stains before main wash.
Advertising teaches us that using expensive powder, you can forget about the brush and soap. Just do not believe all the promises. Some stains are much easier to remove by applying a little stain remover on them before laying in the machine. Instead, some housewives choose repeated washing or more intensive modes. The whole thing is subjected to greater load and loses its shape earlier. A couple of movements with a brush with soap or a remedy for stains, and the typewriter will only finish your work.
Do not abuse bleach
Not all stains can be washed without using sufficiently aggressive agents. But do not believe the promises of the manufacturer of bleach, which says that the product is absolutely suitable for all types of fabric. Things from lycra, spandex and elastane should be washed only with delicate detergents. On the other hand, such fabrics seldom acquire grayish and yellowish shades, and are easily cleaned without extreme means.
Gently wash stretch fabric
Avoid washing at high temperatures fabrics with synthetic fibers. In addition, things from stretchable materials do not need to be dried in a typewriter and ironed. Streychevy properties may deteriorate, and the thing will lose shape.
Pay attention to drying things.
Automatic drying, although it facilitates the maintenance of clothes, causes its premature wear. Use this operation only as a last resort. The best way to dry clothes is to hang them in the open air. Things will be fresh and the apartment will remain dry. Avoid direct sunlight when drying fabrics that are prone to fading. Things from natural fabrics should not be completely dried, otherwise it will not be easy to stroke them. Spread the folds and creases on the fabric, and when dry it will be even. Knitwear and wool are best dried spreading out on a soft towel away from the sun and radiators.
Timely clean the machine and carry out the prevention of scale
Make sure that the machine does not accumulate residual powder, conditioner and clothing fibers. Periodically wash the detergent dispenser compartment, and clean the seal ring. If you neglect such a procedure, it will smell bad from the machine and things will not be fresh after washing. Do not close the machine as soon as you remove the laundry. Let it air out a little and cool. Prevent the formation of limescale at least once a month. To do this, pour ordinary white vinegar into the compartment for feeding powder and start the machine for boiling without laundry.
