The most unusual of all the orchids can rightly be called the orchid Dracula or the Monkey Orchid. This delightful flower is not at all the result of a cross, but a species of orchid growing in the wild in Central and South America. Its extraordinary flowers are amazing: they really resemble small faces of monkeys!Photo: THE LAUNCESTON ORCHID SOCIETY

Flowers may differ in shape and coloring, but they also have something in common: they certainly consist of three sepals, which are connected in such a way that they resemble a cup - an elongated muzzle of a monkey. Some saw the vampire's teeth in them - hence the second name of the orchid, Dracula.Photo: COLUMBUS GV TEAM VIA FLICKR

The plant is whimsical in care: does not tolerate direct sunlight and requires special soil. Nevertheless, to grow such a flower at home is the dream of many people in love with orchids. Dracula's orchid seeds can be found in large flower shops or ordered online, however, it is necessary to prepare all the conditions for the amazing plant to bloom with unusual flowers.
