If you are looking for some new and unusual activity that would easily lure both adults and children, then it is quite possible that twisting is what you need!
Such an unusual term means a completely ordinary, but not yet so common occupation, which is to create all sorts of figures from balloons of various shapes.
Previously, it would have been possible to find people who could add oblong figures to bizarre and unusual figures only in a circus or an amusement park.
Now anyone can master such an exciting activity, because, in fact, the technology is not difficult, and special balls can be easily found on sale.
Of course, from the very beginning you will not be able to create complex and unique compositions, because, as in any creative business, certain skills, experience and, of course, patience are required.
Serious twister designers have long gone from small figures and primitive animals to whole works of art - magnificent sculptures, castles and difficult compositions, you can even find models of clothing that are also made from balloons. Such masterpieces, by right, can easily compete with the usual outfits made of fabric or other materials.
Usually, all modeling from balloons is conditionally divided into two types: monosyllabic and polysyllabic modeling.
As it is probably not difficult to guess, they also differ in the number of balls used to create the figures. In the first case, all modeling is to work with one ball, from which incredible compositions are created, and the second option is to use balls of different color, size and texture, from which one common figure is obtained.
People involved in this at the professional level usually choose one direction, because even if it seems to you that twisting is quite simple, you are mistaken. It will take a lot of time, desire and patience before you start making really serious models.
How to make shapes of balloons with your own hands?
To begin, you will have to understand the necessary tools at hand that will help you create amazing creations. For the twistig, special balloons are used to simulate, they differ from the usual ones in their weight, even if they are pumped with helium, they still won't float in the air.
They come in different lengths and diameters, differing in colors and manufacturer. In addition to the balls, you will need scissors to cut off excess balls, double-sided tape and a black marker, but this is for more complex models.
Each novice twister must master several basic rules, without which no modeling can be done for you. So, we list them and remember.
- The ball should always be inflated completely, leaving the tail not inflated, which makes it possible to make as many bubbles as possible for the simulation. Initially, you need to decide on how much you need them, and then leave the necessary length of the tail, because it will take all the air that is pressed in the process.
- Beginners twisters better use slightly soft balls, because they are much easier to twist and compress, but professionals, of course, does not apply.
- Remember that all modeling always begins with the head of the ball, which provides for free space near its tail, where all the unwanted air accumulates.
- All twists should be performed in one direction, for example, strictly from or towards oneself, one twist should have a minimum rotation of 360 degrees, since in the other case the knocking between individual bubbles will not work.
- Before starting to inflate the balloon, be sure to pull it by the tips, otherwise it may inflate unevenly or burst when inflated.
- All professional twisters use special manual or electric compressors to inflate balls.
How to make simple figures of balloons: schemes and recommendations
Of course, I immediately want to make something extraordinarily beautiful and complex, because it is so tempting to make a favorite cartoon hero, an unusual bouquet or some little man.
But we offer you to start small to gain practical skills and understand how to work with such an unusual material. We offer you the option of an easy heart, which consists of only two balls. But for a start, you can work with a simplified lesson - let's make a heart!
Take a red ball, pump it up, leaving only a couple of centimeters of free space. We tie its beginning and end, forming a little ring. And now in the center, where a recess for the top of the heart should form, fold it so that it obediently acquires the desired shape, you can twist it a little so that the ball does not tend to the original position. Heart is ready!
Flower from balloons
We need only 2 balls - red and green. For a start, we will inflate the red one, from which we will make the head of the flower, leave the tip approximately 3 cm, after which we tie the knot.
Now we connect the beginning and the end of the ball into two knots, bend it in half and twist it in the middle 2 times. Now the educated halves do not divide yet three equal parts, after which we twist each side in two places between each other.
We fold our "petals" into an accordion, then take the thumb and index fingers of one hand in those places where the twists touch, and with the other hand twist the three petals to form a flower.
Now we make a stalk. To do this, we inflate a green ball and leave a small free tip so that the ball itself is slightly soft. We deviate from the knot about 10 centimeters, then in this place we bend and twist the ball in such a way that the node crosses the twisting point.
Now we insert our stem into the center of the flower, bend and twist it to get a leaflet. You can make your friends and relatives happy with such a pretty flower, and if you combine several of these flowers, you can make a bouquet that can be put in the same homemade basket of balloons.
By the way, the art of twisting has gone so far that it is even possible to fold wedding figures from balls, for example, arches, which young people often order from marriage agencies on the wedding day for outdoor painting.
In addition, amazingly beautiful arches are created in the form of a heart or rings, garlands of balloons and much more, which, by the way, can be done independently if you master certain practical skills and abilities.
